    It’s very serendipitous that Daniel chose to photograph this plant which is growing in our alpine garden. Last week I read that due to recent DNA sequence evidence, the two irids known as Belamcanda chinensis and Pardanthopsis dichotoma are soon to be renamed. The Belamcanda is to become Iris domestica, while the Pardanthopsis will be Iris dichotoma. To borrow from Shakespeare, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” It is what it is!
